Welcome to the Lavenham & District Equestrian clubs new style web site which will be in development over the next month or so. We hope you like it. The site is designed to keep members up to date with all our news and events. To navigate the site, please click on the tabs at the top of the page. We also now have a facebook page.
Winners at AGM 2012
L&DEC was set up approximately 35 years ago to run horse shows in Lavenham but now most of our events are based in the wonderful parkland of Melford Hall, Long Melford.
We run 4 events each year all of which are open to members and non-members alike.
The club holds three general horse shows a year starting with the Early Summer show, this year at the end of May and then one in both August and September all at Melford Hall, which include showjumping,Working Hunter and a wide variety of showing classes. In July we have a smaller showing show and gymkhana at Great Waldingfield.
The club produces a schedule booklet with all our events and entry forms in. When this is published details will be on the schedule page on how to obtain one. It is also hoped that we can have a schedule for each event on the site for downloading. It is hoped that the 2012 schedule will be ready by early spring but dates will be available on the diary page so you can plan ahead.
The clubs philosophy is to provide well-organised events but still maintaining that ‘Local’ show feel, where anyone can come of any standard and have a fun day.
Spectators are always welcome at our events.
